Wideners also has Wolf .223 in stock. It's the only stuff anyone can keep on the shelves. And it's not because Wolf has a better production line .

I won't use the stuff, but right now ammo is ammo. If I wasn't already stocked up on PRVI M855 & M193 and nothing else was available, I'd have no qualms with stocking up on Wolf.

My Bushy AR-15 will eat this stuff up all day long. I have some good Privi stuff and some surplus military stuff but I prefer to use the Wolf at the range. Just make sure I clean the AR afterwards everytime.

Oh, I agree. Wolf fires and performs just fine. I just don't like the idea of steel casings running through a firearm that was designed around brass casings.

Anyway, back on topic. At least there still some .223 available, even if it's not everyone's top choice.

When you guys run wolf in your ARs is it the stuff with the coating or plain old brass or steel casing???

All the problems I heard of with Wolf, were from the coatings and prolonged use... I've ran a few 20 round boxes of Wolf though my AR, no jams, but the cases looked steel... If I get anymore out, I'll examine them better..

I only have an AK, but my understanding is that all of the steel cased Wolf ammo is polymer coated.

The main difference is that black box Wolf has the clean(er) NEW coating which works better in picky rifles like the AR15, while the camouflage "Military Classic" box has the dirty OLD coating.
